Ray Allen is one of the most accurate shooters in the NBA. He is one of the very best free throw shooters, making an average of over 90% of his free throw attempts. Among players with over 100 attempts in the 2008-2009 season, Ray ranks in the top 3 in free throw accuracy.
In field goal shooting, Allen makes on average more than 50% of his 2-point attempts. Among players with at least 500 attempts, Allen’s 2-point shooting percentage is in the top 10. He is not bad from 3-point range either. Allen is in the top 5 in 3-pointers made with an accuracy of over 40%.
Ray was an All-America in college at UConn. He was drafted fifth in the 1996-97 draft by Minnesota but was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, where he played his first seven seasons in the NBA. He then played four seasons with the Seattle Super Sonics before being traded to the Boston Celtics in before the 2007-2008 season. Allen was part of the Big Three in Boston that won the 2008 NBA title.
