About Us
Basketball Hoopla is for basketball fans young and old. We created this site with two purposes in mind. The first is to have a place to voice opinions about the game of basketball, including our favorite teams, games and players. The second is to advertise basketball related products.
We don’t sell any of the basketball products shown on this site, though. We are affiliate partners with merchants who are officially licensed to sell NBA and NCAA products. We earn a commission when a visitor on our site uses a link to the merchant site and makes a purchase.
Speaking of favorite basketball players, two of my favorites are shown in the picture at right. That’s Jordan (left) and Zac Vredeveld, my nephews who are both starters for the Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School 2010 boys team. That’s me in the middle, Al Pavlik, owner and webmaster of basketballhoopla.com.
I am afraid my playing days are behind me but I can still enjoy the game by cheering on Jordan and Zac and the Valley Lutheran Wolves.
Jordan is a senior and the team’s leading scorer. Zac is a junior and one of the team’s top 3-point shooters and ball handlers. It’s been great fun cheering on the Wolves. Valley Lutheran High School is located near Stevens Point and Wausau in north central Wisconsin.
Readers opinions are welcome here, too, on basketballhoopla.com. On the pages we offer our opinion on a game or player, there is a comment section on the bottom. As long as you have a legitimate email address you can submit your comments and after review, they will be published below the story you commented on.
We also have created some basketball history pages. Here you can find records of past NBA champions and runners-up. We have also set up pages on which you can view NBA pictures and merchandise. As mentioned above, we are affiliate partners with the merchants who are licensed to sell this merchandise and we do earn a commission when our visitors purchase from our merchant partners.

Basketballhoopla.com is just one of the sports related websites I operate. I am also a big Green Bay Packer fan and operate a site called Green Bay Sweatshirts which promotes a large variety of Packer sweatshirts.
I’ve lived in Wisconsin all my life and of course I am a big fan of Badger athletics as well, especially the basketball team. That’s why I also operate a site called Wisconsin Shirts which promotes Badgers shirts, jerseys, jackets and more.
