Kevin Durant is only in his second year in the NBA but he has already established himself as a big man that can score. Durant, the 6-foot-9 forward from the Oklahoma City Thunder, is among the top three scorers in 2010 at All-Star break.
As a rookie Durant averaged 25.3 and 6.5 rebounds a game. He has improved those numbers slightly in 2010. His 29.8 points per game average puts him in the top 3 in NBA scoring halfway through the season, up there with stars LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.

Durant’s efforts have helped the Thunder move from a team that finished at the bottom of the Northwest Division of the Western Conference to challenging for the lead. Oklahoma City finished 2009 18 games below .500 and out of the playoff picture.
Halfway through 2010 the Thunder are well over the 500 mark, are within four games of the lead in their division and will make the playoffs if they keep it up. Durant came into the NBA as the third overall pick in the 2007 draft, leaving the University of Texas after an outstanding freshman year in which he was the fourth leading scorer in the nation.
